Connectivity is a KA2 Erasmus+ Adult Education project which focuses on developing a method of sustainable inclusion for unemployed adults through educational outdoor activities. While developing the project idea we approached organizations that work already with this specific target group through non-formal tools and can bring a wide variety of ideas and experience along. Each of our partners has a different working environment, therefore their method and impact are also different from one another, still, they all share the need of creating outdoor activities that hold educational value and could stimulate motion in their local communities and beyond.
Creating an accessible learning frame for disadvantaged groups is a common challenge throughout Europe, especially when it comes to adults. There is a growing interest in working with youth and supporting it through various activities and opportunities, but offering the same to adults seems to be more difficult. One of the main reasons for this is that these adults are less likely to participate in such events, in most cases the participants are people who already take advantage of many learning opportunities. Also, this is the target group that has difficulties in adjusting to the formal educational system, thus losing connection with education in any forms. This often results in social exclusion and borderline behavior.
On one hand there are many organizations that focus on this target group and create various activities for support (such as biking, city safari, etc.), still, in many cases, these events have no educational value and no long-term impact.
On the other hand, even if the organized activities do have an educational purpose, they serve as a one-time experience and they hardly create a difference in the long run.
Through this project, we would like to offer a solution to this challenge by improving and extending the supply of high-quality learning opportunities tailored to the needs of individual fewer opportunity adults so that they enhance their key competences and have higher chances to enter the labor market. Together with our partners and staff members we plan to develop a sustainable method of inclusion which has long-term impact not only on the affected individuals, but also on the organizations and on their local communities. By creating an innovative playground and engaging persons with limited formal education not only in the activities of the organizations but also in the work of these organizations, inclusion will happen on a much bigger scale and will serve as a way to tackle unemployment.
Why outdoor activities? Based on our experience activities organized in an out-of-the-door context are simple, easy to access and effective, regardless of the social competences or background of the target group. These can be short games, walking, biking or any other activities which create a learning frame. By choosing this method, we change the context and create a setting that stimulates learning and progress, especially for those who experience difficulties when it comes to fitting into the formal educational system. Through outdoor games and activities, we aim to create a non-formal playground for the target group in order to make learning accessible for the involved individuals.

A youth non-governmental organization in Serres, in North Greece which has activities in youth policy, media, migration and human rights fields. Founded in 1995 in order to offer a broad spectrum of activities to support the development and empowerment of the Greek civil society.
Praxis stands for developing youth participation at local level, with the purpose of fostering the potential of young people to be active citizens and actors of real social change in their local communities, as well as in their regional and international realities. We provide capacity building for young people for personal and social development using non-formal education methods.
We chose Connectivity because we provide valuable support to young people in implementing their ideas, projects and activities, encouraging all young people to participate in trainings and exchanges of experience. Furthermore, the staff members of Praxis constantly develop themselves and their professional skills in order to contribute with their experience and qualifications to the projects they implement and initiatives they take. This is further enhanced by cooperation meetings, exchanges of best practices, and being continuously informed about youth activities at a European level.
A youth organization located in Paris which promotes international mobility for young adults between 18 and 30 years as a tool for inclusion. We consider that an international experience is a structuring step that can help these youngsters and young adults find their way back to school or to employment, especially in case of fewer opportunities.
Everyone should have access to international mobility projects, right?
Even when the lack of diplomas or a complicated economic and social situation prevent people from building projects for the future.
Joining Connectivity is the opportunity to share our expertise of mentoring young adults experiencing difficulties in their life and career paths among a consortium of skilled European partners. In the meantime, it will provide us with new tools to make our programs more efficient to help young people with fewer opportunities and to reach “invisible” audiences.
Our goal is to give possibilities to youth to go out of their comfort zone, beyond geographic, economic, physical, psychological and cultural borders.
We really do believe non-formal education can make the difference and our experience in the field proves us right. And actually it’s all about experience! Through this project we want to provide an experiential frame in which youth workers and disadvantaged youngsters can try themselves out how valuable they are and see first-hand their own potential.
Part of our team was already involved in outdoor learning, this project for us represents the chance to share our competences and to learn other ones in order to improve our work in the field. Connectivity is a great opportunity to create something new and concrete in order to support people at an international level.
A youth organization that we created using our imagination to improve our potential and the surrounding environment with fresh and positive ideas. What solidifies us is our passion to take initiative and involve young people in social life, through European Mobility and training programs.
Together with our focus on networking and our determination for future development, Active Bulgarian Society applies an innovative approach to develop youngsters through deep involvement in the activities of the organization. At ABS we are looking forward to changes. We have the willingness to share our time and make our dreams come true.
Taking part in Connectivity is an opportunity for ABS to tackle unemployment on all levels through organizing various trainings, seminars, mobilities of youth workers of different ages, workshops and outdoor activities.
A non-governmental organization established in September 1998 in order to promote European and global integration processes and to support the cultural, political, and economic integration of Croatia into the European Union. One of its main goals is to promote and develop European interdependence and cooperation, human rights, environmental protection, as well as natural and cultural heritage. Our activities are focused on the integration of young people from rural areas, young people with different cultural, national, and religious backgrounds. We stimulate this through training events, workshops, individual support, international exchanges, and projects. We work both with adults and youngsters.
We support initiatives and projects that strengthen non-formal education through outdoor activities, civic cohesion, and active citizenship on local levels... this is what Connectivity is all about.
A non-profit youth association based in Cascais, which has been promoting and supporting activities for young people since 1992, with over 27 years of existence!
The secret of the association is being an open door to new projects, an opportunity for young people to realize their ideas and dreams with the support of an organization.
Our impact extends beyond Cascais, both nationally and internationally, through the many international mobility projects carried out. Throughout these years, many young people have been here and have participated and created new activities, always in a peer learning logic. We believe that knowledge sharing is facilitated by peer identification and that creating a space of trust is key to experiencing and daring.
